LEST WE FORGET- KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS 26TH JULY

To commemorate Kargil Victory Day on 26th July 2019, students of The Oxford School, Kollam conducted a special assembly to remember India’s war victory and to pay tribute to Kargil Martyrs who are the symbol of courage and sacrifice for safeguarding the borders of the Country.  A story board of Kargil war timeline and a patriotic song was also showcased by the students which filled the entire atmosphere with patriotism. A model representing the Kargil Mountains depicting the Kargil war scene conquered by Indian Army was displayed in the assembly. Principal Dr. Sajid Ali explained the importance of Kargil Vijay Diwas to the students.

The school also honoured Adv Lt Col K K John(Rtd), Lance Naik Mr. Binu K.K, Havildar Mr. Somarajan during the  function by presenting them with the traditional ponnada and momento.

The power point presentation by the teachers made the event informative and enlightening. It explained the students about the significance of Kargil Vijay Diwas and the sacrifices of Kargil heroes, which was also followed by inspirational and emotional videos of the war. Vice Principal Mrs. Mini K Pillai proposed the Vote of Thanks and remarked that patriotism should be inculcated at school level to make sure that student becomes the responsible citizen of our Nation.
